Chapter 168 - New Sweetheart

no kidding, i was given this new (not that new, by the way) laptop by my employer. Bye-bye Toshiba Satellite M100, and welcome Compaq Presario F700. some of my new colleagues are bit jealous of my fortune. well, they should. i came in at the right time as they just bought this laptop. if previously i adored the 'harman/kardon', now i'm satisfied with 'altec lansing'. why did i exaggerate such matter when i'm not that 'boom-bang' kind of guy? i even put on headphone while using the laptop. dunno laa. maybe that's just my laptop's benchmark. my brother will start working next week, so i need to return his laptop. such memorable period..... sigh...

oh.. i should mention this first. i'm employed now. so qayyum, change my link to 'aPai not jobless anymore'. hahaha. well to tell u the truth, i sworn not to work here anymore. and as u get confuse over my statement, i used to work with this company. remember the temporary job i did last year. yeah, the one at Sabak bernam and few other locations in KL. the same company, but not the same project. i'm involved in different project now. a pilot project. i cant tell much about it as it is confidential. it's all good, except for the Gombak-Cyberjaya commuting. Soooo daunting. plus, i was bit light-headed and flu'ish the whole week. i think i spread the virus over the office as i heard colleagues started to sneezes here and there. hopefully i can make myself useful here. there's no better place for me to achieve my vision than being a project team. although i bit lacking in technical parts (consider i forgot everything i learned in University), i am lucky to be trusted on this project. i'll be supervising site when everything is in it places.

My cubicle still looks boring. baru satu minggu... i forced myself to hang this piece of assignment given by my boss, and that's all. maybe i can start by bringing pillows and blanket, and my sister's teddy bear. anyway, jahanam btol pengurusan bangunan ni. air-cond exactly open at 9 am and closed at 5.30 pm. outside that period, panas.

ok. im out. ciao.

Chapter 167 - Nearly Becoming One

the only problem when u are unemployed and live with your parent is that, the errands and chores are somehow multiplying. lucky for me, currently i'm living in a small-sized family which consists of my parent and my brother, and in a small house. Xde amah or bibik to do the daunting tasks ~ laundry, gardening, cleaning and cleaning somemore. not enough with the household chores, i need to drive my mom here and there. Going to rumah makcik around the taman to collect duit kutu, going to post office to pay the bills, going to bank to withdraw/deposit money... aiyooo... my mom is a well-planned lady. every time i accompanied her out, i somehow knew that it'll cost me 2-3 hours of my youth. hahaha.. youth sangat la aku ni... as soon as i start the car's engine, she'll read me the 'to do' list. "1st we're going to the post office... follow the kampung road, then we're going to the bank, then we'll go to Giant to buy groceries, afterwards we're going to pak ngah's hse, bla...bla...bla...". and by the time i got home, i finished downloading 2 episodes of j-drama (yea..i leave the laptop on all the time). there you go...

one time, i went to pak ngah's shop in sentul with my mom. he's operating his own business of kad kawin, printing, topup and also a Zhulian dealer. so, i was sitting in front of the shop lot when a mother and her 6 years old daughter entered the shop. before, i was inside, but since i had fever and felt uncomfortable inside, i went outside. then this daughter went outside to play with a cat since her mom busied looking at the katalog barang kemas. this pregnant cat, white/black in color which slendered around me earlier. i overheard my mom's conversation inside the shop.

"suka dia dengan kucing... setengah budak2 takut dgn kucing" - mom

"aah.. kami pon baru hilang kucing, tu yang dia dok cari kucing baru" - no named makcik

so, i asked the kid,

"kucing adik kaler apa?" - aku

"kaler putih" - 6 y.o kid

"ooo..ntah2 kucing yang kat sana kot" - aku trying being friendly... and actually true. mmg ada kucing bawah kereta few meters from where the conversation took place.

"mana?" - 6 y.o kid getting curious

"meh.. kat sini..." - i halfway led the kid to the cat, then suddenly stop because i realized.... I'M BECOMING LELAKI KUCING or MIGHT ACCUSED OF BEING LELAKI KUCING. mampus aku kalau makcik tu tiba-tiba jerit "Tolong... lelaki kucing nk culik anak aku!!!".
mampus.....so before anything happen, i called off my intention, step back and pretend nothing happen.

meow...

Chapter 166 - Sick Me... Me Sick

i've been in a sluggish mood recently. due to fever probably. but who am i to complained. everyone's getting the privilege of falling sick. some are worse than just fever. at this particular time, everyone just wish that somebody would be concern with things happening. somebody 'special'. hahaha... no need the braces, everyone who read this surely know what it mean. so, these few days, i'm in an himono-otoko mode. there is a term used for japanese to address particular person who laze around in house, wearing jerseys or lazy clothes, looking pretty worse than friends usually sees ~ like the look of somebody who just woke up. some more, lying around doing nothing, talking to themselves or to cat. how to differentiate from other normal people, is that, himono prefer staying home than going out socializing. i learned it from j-drama by the way.

i went to friend's house yesterday celebrating chinese new year. he is half indian, half chinese. he hang-out with us as long as i know him. so he's just like another malay to me. then, what is he? he's my friend la... hahaha.. that's best befriend him. every holiday he celebrate... CNY, Raya, Diwali, christmas.. talking about open house and free food. hahahaha... he and his mom made nasi ayam with different styles of chicken.. got black-pepper one, grilled one.. also got mutton. sluurrppp... unfortunately, i wasn't in mood of being glutton as feverish mood strikes. anyway, thanks Choops. hontou ni saigou da yo!

Chapter 165 - Show Me

Not long ago, i read somewhere in the newspaper regarding the lack of attention of Msian Media over local sports. In newspaper, the focus is all over the foreign sports coverage. Especially in football. It infuriates the media as the accusation a bit harsh, but later on, someone from the berita harian admitted that the news of foreign sports sells, and they just fulfilling the needs of the readers. I'm one of them. So does everyone. it's true actually, most of us prefer english football than local football. i even can list the full squad of my favorite football team ~ Man U... including the subs and reserve. also, able to at least named a player from each team in EPL or La Liga. But when it came to local football team, i failed to do so. same goes to most of us. So, what the heck is going on here? why such phenomenon occurs? Local lads doesn't even know their own local football team? What went wrong?

With our national ranking thrown into the pit of shame - the worst ever for us ~ #165, it's kind of shame that our football squad which once feared over the continent becoming nobody. below is list of solutions i came out with.

1. A picture worth a thousand words
the quality of coverage must be improved. even main macam sampah pon, make it as if the match is world-class. the photos i mean.... get the best shot with the best camera. you know what i mean by comparing between these pictures :

sekali imbas, u should recognize which photo taken from EPL and Liga Super. if it is hard to tell, lemme give u hints, Msian photo is recognized by the bad pixel which is probably taken by a disposable camera and also, the fan or supporter is almost none in the background. u might questioned the outcome of this solution, ye la... apa guna kalau gambar cantek tapi main mcm budak tadika... i agree, but at least, when u flip the pages in the sport section, the picture surely gonna catch your eye and get your attention. something need to start at somewhere, right?

2. Start our own sport channel(s)
It sucks when I want to watch my national representatives' matches and there is no single channel showing it. in argentina, even matches yg bertaraf felda pon ditayang di TV, tahap main kat padang koyak punya. Actually there are several sport channels in Argentina. So no wonder they can afford to do so. So, why we don't have one? Astro kan bersepah free channels, sampai nk krem jari tekan butang 3 angka. we should have one. 24-7 showing local sport news and live-match if any. Last time when our badminton squad went to Korea Open, Japan Open, etc.. I can only get the results through Berita jam 8... even though the matches are in the morning. spend la sket govt money utk buat live coverage, kata nk martabatkan sukan negara, xkan xleh spend juta2 ringgit untk masa depan sukan national? X kesah la kalah ke menang, at least i can support my national team on the spot. even xde live pon, show classic matches... zaman2 mokhtar dahari, kasi penonton teruja sikit.

3. Animate our sport
to be honest, the thing that honed my interest in playing basketball was and still Slam Dunk. the japanese manga didn't just inspire me alone, but world-wide readers. ask those yg men basketball kat M'sia if they know the manga. surely they do. In Msia also got good cartoonist, manga-kun or illustrator. have them to produce an inspiring sport-based mangas/comics. buat la yg menarik sket, yg ada jalan cerita. kalau buat bangang2 pon xde sape nk baca nnt.

4. Sport dramas/movies
same with my #3 point, produce a drama based on sport. gol n gincu is not sport drama. it's just another teen-flick. bukan nk kata u cannot mix love and sport...u can, but the mixture must correct and strictly following the theme. kalau nk buat cerita sukan, do so full-heartedly.. jgn tunjuk main futsal 2-3 minit, pastu make-up, dating n gaduh 45 minit. macam drama H2, pasal high-school baseball. ada jugak cintan-cintun, tapi berkadaran dgn msg yg nk disampaikan. somemore, movies mcm wimbledon n goal. we can also produce such movies apa..... oh, cuci dinding bangunan bukan sukan OK! forget that one.

5. Supportive parent
one thing i noticed, not many parents in Msia support their kid to do sport, or at least going far in sport. i saw many talented football player in my batch during my school years, but the reality teaches us that academic bring in money, not sport. so, these friends of mine stop playing and concentrating on studying. well, first, it is partially wrong. byk ahli sukan yg kaya raya, but the parent only sees the failure perspective, not the success one. for example, apa akan terjadi kepada player yg dah bersara. without monthly paycheck, what he/she gonna feed their family. or what happened when the player forced to retired due to the injury half-way? stop thinking the down-side for a moment. if your kid talented, then let them to be someone they really can be. ada problem pulak bila parent xtau anak2 dia berbakat. never aware of their children sporting abilities. to parent, please be more concern. be more supportive. parent di US dtg tgk anak2 main sukan, support giler babi padahal, parent Msia sibuk carik duit. byk parent di England yg mahukan anak2 derang jadi player bolasepak, padahal kita pulak ramai yg nakkan anak2 jadi doktor. abih tu, kalau semua jadi doktor, sape nk main bola? betul x?
